RingBow
RingBow is the world’s first touch screen enhancer, designed to be used in conjunction with touch technology and compliment it. It is a finger-worn device, enabling additional layers of functionality, countless new features and a much more intuitive user experience.
Expanding the realm of digital interaction
Wearable tech. As a smart, finger- worn device, the RingBow’s goal was to provide excellent functionality and usability, while keeping size to a minimum. This as achieved through a close and continuous interaction between electronic engineers and designers.
Form Factor. As a smart, finger-worn device, RingBow’s goal was to provide excellent functionality and usability, while keeping size to a minimum. That required a close and continuous interaction between electronics engineers and designers.
CMF (Color – Material – Finish). Consumer goods require the designer to have a keen eye and a well developed sense of style. These requirements are amplified when designing a wearable device. We used plastic and rubber of specific grade and finish to provide not only style, but also comfort.
Remote Control. Operating RingBow is not limited to touch screens. It also provides the ability to interact with virtual objects(presentations, games, TV content) from a distance. This may be similar to using a remote or a controller, yet the user’s fingers always remain free to touch.
Finger friendly. The gripping mechanism was one of ‘RingBow’s greatest design challenges, as it would have to fit all finger sizes of potential users. Furthermore, the grip pressure must be calculated with a very high precision . Through countless mockups and iterations the solution emerged as a flat metal spring incorporated in the central hinge.
